Hail damage roof inspection
Hail does not put a hole in a roof. It bruises it — fracturing the mat and stripping the granules that protect the asphalt — and that spot then ages several times faster than the roof around it. Which is why the leak arrives two years after the storm, and often after the filing window has closed.

We check the soft metal first
Gutters, downspouts, vents, flashing and the chimney cap. Soft metal records a storm accurately, which is exactly why an adjuster looks there before the shingles — and why we do too.

Then the roof, plane by plane
Bruising and granule loss are counted per test square, per slope. The north and west faces usually take it worst here, and a report that does not distinguish between slopes is not a report.

We tell you if you do not have a claim
Granule loss on a twenty-year-old roof is the roof ending, not a storm. Cracks running with the grain are thermal splitting. Both get sold as hail, and neither is — you get the honest version even when it is the one that pays us nothing today.

You get the documentation either way
Photographs, slope-by-slope findings and the storm date they are consistent with. That is the file an adjuster works from, and it is yours whether or not we do the work.
What people ask when they call.
- How do I know if we even got hail?
- Check the things at eye level: dimpled window screens, flattened AC fins, dents on the grill lid or the mailbox. If those took it, the roof took the same storm.
- Is the inspection free?
- Yes, the inspection is free. It is a real look at the roof, not a sales visit with a foregone conclusion — and if there is no claim, we tell you so.
- The storm was over a year ago. Too late?
- Possibly not, and it is worth checking. Insurers work from recorded hail events at your address rather than from your recollection — and the damage frequently traces to an earlier storm than the one people remember, which cuts both ways on the filing deadline.
- Someone knocked on my door offering a free inspection. Should I use them?
- Ask for the Tennessee license number and who is doing the work, not who is selling it. Middle Tennessee fills with out-of-state crews after a hailstorm; the ones still here in three years are the ones who were here before it.
